How do I actually get my challan details?

Send your vehicle's registration number to +91 92058 98600 on WhatsApp — that is the whole process. We reply in the same chat with every challan on the vehicle, split into what is still payable, what has moved to a court, and what is already settled. Send the registration number rather than a challan number: the records are looked up by vehicle.

Do I need to install an app or create an account?

No app, and no account needed to get your report — send the registration number on WhatsApp and the breakdown comes back in the same chat. Your chat history doubles as your record. An account is optional and only worth it if you want a dashboard across several vehicles and a message when something changes; you would create it with the same WhatsApp number, confirmed by a one-time code we send to that number.

How long does clearance take?

Challans that are still payable can be cleared straight away. Court matters follow the judicial calendar, so the timing depends on when the bench next sits and is outside anyone's control — the advocate handling your case will tell you what to expect once they have reviewed it.

What happens to challans that have gone to court?

They can no longer be paid online — the department disables that option once a matter is with a court, and it can only be closed by a court order. A panel advocate takes it from there: they decide how the matter is best presented, appear on your behalf, and pay the amount the court settles on at the counter. You do not attend. What that amount turns out to be is entirely the court's decision, so nobody — us or the advocate — can tell you in advance what you will pay.

Is this an official government site?

No. ChallanHelp.com is a private technology platform. We read challan data from public government sources, but we are not a government body. The official portals are parivahan.gov.in and echallan.parivahan.gov.in.

Why can't some challans be paid online?

Once a challan is not paid within the statutory window, or the offence carries a penalty a police officer cannot compound on the spot — such as driving without insurance, dangerous driving or an expired PUC — the case is forwarded to a virtual court. From that point the online payment option is disabled by the department and the matter can only be closed by a court order. Those are the challans we flag separately in your report and hand to a panel advocate.

Is my vehicle and payment data safe?

Chats are protected by WhatsApp's own end-to-end encryption, and traffic between our servers runs over 256-bit TLS. We never ask for card numbers, UPI PINs or bank credentials — and we never ask you to read a code back to us. The only code we ever send is the sign-in code you requested yourself, on the account page; you type it into the site, never into the chat. Anyone asking you to forward a code, or asking for a PIN, is not us.
